Description Region Group वैश्विक फ़ंक्शन हर सेल के लिए आउटपुट में उस संबद्ध क्षेत्र की पहचान रिकॉर्ड करता है, जिससे सेल संबद्ध है। हर क्षेत्र को एक अद्वितीय नंबर असाइन किया जाता है।

स्कैन किए गए पहले क्षेत्र को मान एक प्राप्त होता है, दूसरे को मान दो और इसी प्रकार आगे भी मान तब तक दिए जाते हैं, जब तक कि सभी क्षेत्रों को मान असाइन नहीं कर दिए जाते हैं। स्कैन, बाएं से दाएं, ऊपर से नीचे की ओर गति करता है। आउटपुट ज़ोन को असाइन किए गए मान उस समय पर आधारित होते हैं, जब वे स्कैनिंग प्रक्रिया के सामने आते हैं।
