Description  Story Map Journal is a Story Map application that lets you present a map-based narrative organized into a set of journal entries. This application is ideal for creating compelling multimedia stories that combine text, graphics and maps, especially where you have a lot of text and detail you want to convey. When you configure a Map Journal, an interactive builder appears that makes it easy to create your story.

A Story Map Journal can be created by launching the builder from this page on the Esri Story Maps website, or by sharing a web map as an application from the map viewer. You can also click the 'Create a Web App' button on this page to create a story map with this application. Optionally, the application source code can be downloaded for further customization and hosted on your own web server.

For more information about the Story Map Journal, including a gallery of examples and a step-by-step tutorial, please see this page on the Esri Story Maps website.
